About the Naming Principles Commission

The Naming Principles Commission, comprised of faculty, staff, student, alumni, Trustee, and external expert representation, and advised by additional distinguished scholars and practitioners, undertook its work during the 2021-2022 academic year. The Commission was established by the Board of Trustees to develop and recommend principles to guide future decisions about namings and removal of/modification to names, across applications of names (e.g., buildings, professorships, programs, etc.).
